What is Good to Go Kids?

Good to Go Kids is a Congressional award-winning community-based organization in Shakopee. It is not connected to, nor run by the Shakopee School District. It operates under the umbrella of the 501.(c)3 non-profit, SouthWest Metro Cooperative Foundation. It was founded in 2012 by long-time school board member, Mary Romansky. It was established to help students succeed.

What is its mission?

Its mission is to provide support for students, wherever it is needed.

What are we doing now?

Right now we are providing food for the week end for students at Sweeney, Sun Path and Jackson elementary schools on Fridays during the school year. Students at the SouthWest Metro Cooperative also received food. We have also provided graduation pictures for seniors and graduation parties for students who cannot afford one of their own. We provide food for secondary level students on an as needed basis.

What are our future plans?

We are also looking to create a food program or food shelf, at the secondary level in Shakopee. We are planning on starting a program for students who would like to go to the prom but cannot afford it.

How can you help?

We are accepting donations of both - time and money. You can sign up to volunteer to help at: . Contributions can be sent to: SouthWest Metro Educational Foundation, 792 Canterbury Road S Suite #211, Shakopee MN 55379; in care of Good to Go Kids.
